Enroute to Railey beach. Sat. May 7 th
Another smooth day of transportation. Up at 530, checked out and in open aired truck enroute to pier by 6. An hour to spare at pier we were eventually herded around like cattle while an older grumpy Thai man yelled out commands in broken English. This time we were boarded onto a huge fast ferry which held approximately 220 people. Ferried to surat thani where we loaded onto a comfortable large 2 tiered bus. As we drove inland we passed by limestone rock and towns. 3 hours passed quickly in this comfy bus. we were soon dropped off at a bus stop in krabi to await our next transport in an A/C mini van. Grumpy driver was overly sensitive to the fried rice smell of the quick lunch C picked up and barked at us to put it away followed by him using a spray of air freshener in the vents. Phew, thought he was going to kick us out. Met a South African young couple who ironically were going to the same resort (sand sea resort) as us.
Arrived at Ao Nang pier where we were escorted quickly into a long tailed boat for the trip to Railey beach West. 15 mins went by quickly as we were mesmerized by the limestock rock, rising like mountains out of the pure aqua blue water.
Onto the pier we were on our own to walk to our resort. 15 mins later we showed up to a beautiful beachfront garden and pool resort.
I was unpacking my bag when I heard mom and Kristen tip toing excitedly around in the room. "There's a cockroach in the bathroom!!" I ran in expecting to see a big black coackroach, instead I found a teeny tiny salamander. Really?..haha well at least it's not a big gross cockroach, but still a slimy bug, I did not want to touch it either. good thing the bum gun has a lot of power, I was able to shoot the gun in the direction of the little salamander, pushing it all the way into the drain. !phew we have been saved by the bum gun!
Got settled, got a cot for Kristen! After 7 hours of travel, we turned on the TV for the first time on this trip and enjoyed a movie to R and R while it rained. Wandered along the beach and had a fish supper. yes the entire fish was laid on our plate. We covered the head with a piece of lettuce. Tired out we retired to our beautiful quaint bungalow.
